Welcome to our website

ZincExplorer is a web server that could predict Zinc-binding sites from protein sequence. The proposed ZincExplorer consists of a SVM-based predictor, a Cluster-based predictor and a Template-based predictor It was trained and tested on a set PDB chains obtained from Passerini et al(Proteins, 2006, 65: 305-316). It could achieve a 85.6% precision at 70% recall for CHEDs through 5-fold cross-validation. It is worth mentioning that ZincExplorer could not only predict the zinc-binding sites but also predict the interdependent relationship of the sites which bind to the same zinc ion. Because of the excellent performance, ZincExplorer could be applied to annotate full zinc proteomes. Enjoy :)

The stand-alone program that implements ZincExplorer is available under request.

This server is free available to any user, but without any warranty.
